How to make porotaka
To make a porotaka I used two strips of flax at
least 30 centimetres long.
The strips were both the same width.
First I folded strip
A.
Then I placed strip
B inside the fold of strip A.
Next I weaved strip
B around strip A.
Thereafter I pulled the four
ends tightly to form a square.
Then I trimmed the
blades so they are all the same length.
Finally when I finished making my porotaka, I pinned it to a stick.

How to make porortiti
First I cut a circular piece of thick cardboard about
the size of a coffee cup.
Then I designed my circular piece of cardboard using
different coloured crayons.
Next I pierced two holes in the centre of the
cardboard circle about 1 centimetre apart.
Thereafter I threaded a piece of string through the
holes. I tied the ends together into a sturdy knot, creating a large hoop.Friday, 3 August 2012
Soccer
On Tuesday morning, Room 8 students went to play soccer with Juan on the court. We were having fun running around with the soccer ball.
We kicked the ball to our partner. We also kicked the ball around and we played soccer with Juan.
We had fun because we played soccer with our coach Juan.
