Printmaking

I created this print by making the image on a block using card. Then I rolled an even coat of ink over the surface and placed paper over the block applying pressure using my hands and a roller to transfer the print.

My Favourite Animal

My favourite animal is a bulldog because it is strong and fierce. A bulldog is a vertebrate because it has a backbone.

Reflections on Air

I learnt that in China air pollution is responsible for the deaths of 50 000 newborns each year.

The Sun and the Tornado

Have you ever heard of a story called “The Sun and the Tornado”.

Long ago the Tornado and Sun were having an argument about who was stronger.

One day there was a storm coming. The Tornado said, “I am stronger than you” to the Sun. An old lady was walking down the street the tornado tried to take off the lady’s jacket by blowing hard but she held on to her jacket tightly. So the sun had a try and the lady got hot and took off her jacket off .

The argument was settled once and for all. The sun proved to be stronger than the tornado.

A good use for cobwebs

Have you ever heard about a story called “A good use for a cobwebs?” Long ago there lived a giant
bird  named Matuku who ate anybody that passed  his cave and made a fence out of their bones.


Matuku captured an old warrior called Whairoa, ate  him and used his bones to make a  fence. Whairoa’s son Rata was angry when he heard  that his father got eaten by the bird. So Rata asked his spider, Pungawerewere to make a cobweb to capture Matuku. When Matuku came out of his house Rata threw the cobweb noose over Matuku and managed to capture him.


They cooked Matuku, ate him bones and used his bones to finish off his fence.

Rugby

Hooray! Last Wednesday Hamish came to teach us rugby. Our game was called “Ripper tag”. Kahn was the tagger.

When Hamish blew the whistle we all had to run. I never got tagged until Moli tagged me.
Playi ng rugby was fun because I learnt new things.

Making a Porotaka

These are the instructions that Brandon followed to make his porotaka.

Waste Audit

Last Tuesday was the waste audit in Glenbrae School.We emptied out the bins and we weighed it.It weighed lots and lots.

Next we put on gloves and sorted it out into each rubbish bin.The bins names were non recycled plastic,recycled paper,recycled cardboard and worm farm waste.Then we weighed it. It weighed 7 kilograms.

Finally we put all the bags into one pile. I liked it because it taught me how to recycle.
