Kiwican: Term 4: Week 3

Our theme for this term is Respect and our topic for today was on "Respecting ourselves."

First we did an energiser which was called "Power of one". Then we spoke about our learning intention which was learning to ibe a person that we can respect and others will too.

We learnt a lot about respect from Kiwi can today and enjoyed it very much.

Buddy Day

Room 8 made 2 buddies for Buddy Day.

The name of the boy's buddy was Santolanto and the girl's buddy was called Mariah. All the students from Room 8 were part of creating Santolanto and Mariah. Everyday after lunch we wrote a message to Santolanto and Mariah in our diaries. Today we were very sad because we had to say goodbye to Santolanto and Mariah as they are now going to be adopted by someone else.

We really enjoyed our experiences with our dear buddies Santolanto and Mariah.

Hockey

Today room 8 played hockey on the netball courts. We learnt how to dribble slow, fast, side ways, backwards and how to stop the ball. We had relay races and learnt how to bounce the ball on our stick. We had lots of fun and are looking forward to next week. 

Duffy assembly

On the 23rd of October room 8 watched the Duffy production. We learnt about the importance of reading and about how to find books in the library. It was really funny and we all had a great time.

Kiwican: Week 2; Term 4

First we did an energiser which was called "Fruit tag". Then we spoke about our learning intention which was learning to identify what makes us unique. 

We learnt a lot about respect from Kiwi can today and enjoyed it very much.

Dance fever: Term 4; week 2

Today we had dance fever in the Glenbrae School hall.

We learnt how to do the samba and a hip hop dance.

We had lots of fun learning our dance moves.

On Thursday Room 8 had dance fever in the Glenbrae School hall with Rachel and Lieutenant.

                                                                 

We enjoyed the session and we learnt how to do two types of dance moves.

Sunsmart

Sun Smart

For week 1 of term 4, room 8 learnt about being sun smart. We learnt about the importance of slipping on glasses, slopping on sunscreen, slapping on a hate, wrapping on clothes and seeking shade. Firstly we all designed our own sunscreen; with a name, SPF rating, price and images. We also created our own sun smart hats; these were made out of paper which we drew on, to keep us safe from the sun.
